Andre Drummond’s 3 best games with the Cavaliers
By Zane Harris
#3: Feb. 29, 2020 for the Cavs vs. the Indiana Pacers
The third best game that Andre Drummond had with the Cleveland Cavaliers came in a February 29 matchup against the Indiana Pacers last year. Although the Cavaliers lost this game to the Pacers, Drummond did everything he could to help win it for the Cavs.
He did have a plus-minus of -18, which was far from ideal, but, Drummond still filled up the stat sheet and had a huge game against the Pacers.
He finished the game with 27 points on 12-for-21 shooting from the field, and he also pulled in 13 rebounds. Defensively, Drummond finished the game with four steals and one block.
This was a very tough matchup for the Cavaliers and Drummond especially. The Pacers are a very well-rounded team with a quality starter at every position. In the paint, Drummond was guarded by Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner.
Sabonis is an All-Star-caliber player, however, Myles Turner, the man that spent most of the game defending Drummond, is a much more defensively-minded player than Sabonis.
Turner finished the game with four blocks and in the 2020-2021 season is averaging a league-leading 3.5 blocks per game, albeit Turner does not nearly have the size, in terms of strength, as Drummond.
But for Drummond to still put up the numbers he did with the stout defense of the Pacers, along with doing all he could to carry the Cavs to a victory makes for this to be a very impressive performance.
