Nearing the 2020 trade deadline, the Cleveland Cavaliers made a move to land multi-time All-Star Andre Drummond onto the roster. The Cavs made a deal with the Detroit Pistons that sent Brandon Knight, John Henson and a 2023 second-round pick in return for Andre Drummond.

Drummond only played 33 games with the Cavaliers before it was reportedly decided that between him/his camp and the Cavs, that in his remaining time with them, that he’d be sitting in games. It has been rumored that the final straw was when the Cleveland Cavaliers became a part of the four team trade that sent James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets.

In this trade, the Cavaliers acquired Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince. The issue that likely set off Drummond was acquiring Allen, as he was reportedly unsatisfied with his minutes-share since the Allen acquisition. Allen is a younger center that fits the window of the Cavaliers in terms of age much better than Drummond does, albeit Drummond has still been a member of the team since the decision, which has been admirable in that sense.

Although he did not end up playing a substantial amount of games with the Cavaliers, Drummond still made an impact on the team. He played the role of a traditional center well.

Drummond was a rebounding specialist along with a paint protector. He often would fill up the stat sheet with points, rebounds, blocks and steals.

Currently, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been trying to make calls to teams to put together a deal for Drummond. The Cavs have reportedly had trade discussions with the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat, and in terms of feasible buyout destinations, The Athletic‘s Jason Lloyd (subscription required) suggested the Brooklyn Nets, Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks as possibilities, if a trade weren’t to play out.

And regarding other reported details in terms of potential trade partners/rumors, you can view those here.

No matter what ends up playing out with Drummond, though, he did again, make his presence felt. So what were a few games, in particular, that stood out from his Cavs tenure, then?

In that realm, we’ll highlight his three best games with the Cavs here.
