How Kevin Love can help Anthony Edwards if he’s selected by Cavs in 2020 NBA Draft

The second way Love can help Edwards if the latter is drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers: Spacing the floor
The second way in which Kevin Love can help Anthony Edwards if the Cavaliers were to select him is to stretch the floor more so off-ball. In his time with the Cavs, Love has transformed himself from a bully of a power forward who was known for his regular games of having 20 points and 20 rebounds.
However, for the betterment of the Cavaliers when Kyrie Irving and LeBron James were on the roster, Love greatly improved his perimeter game to space the floor. This provided much-needed floor spacing that is almost essential for a power forward to provide in today’s NBA.
The floor spacing provided for wide-open driving lanes for Irving and James as Love’s defender could not help over to camp in the paint or he would be giving up a wide-open triple to Love. This can once again be the reality just swap out Irving’s and James’ names for Sexton’s (who has benefited from Love’s presence often already) and Edwards’.
Once again, it would give Love the ability to not take a pounding from playing more on the block and would give his share of at least plenty open three-point looks. For Edwards, he will be able to have a more spaced-out floor and more open driving lanes and paths to the basket.
In addition, for Love, for context, while Edwards had a far from spectacular 2.8 assists per game at Georgia, he is a decent passer and should be able to see kickouts, leading to passes to Love or ball-swings eventually to him from there.
It is possible that if we see Edwards selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers we could see Love take the young guard under his wing and they could be one of the better guard-forward duos in the Eastern Conference.
