John Holland can get hot for games.

Holland has NBA experience unlike the majority of players in this league but you probably wouldn’t know that from watching his first five games. He went into this game averaging just 5.6 points per game on 31% shooting while starting every game.

Holland played Sunday afternoon like a guy who has seen time in the league before. He was efficient from the field and played with a confidence that was unlike most players on the floor.

A game like this is important for Holland. He was on the roster last season on a two-way deal but his spot next season is far from a guarantee. Holland has to take advantage of every chance he has to show that he deserves to be on the roster at the start of next season.

Holland hasn’t made a strong case for himself going into Sunday’s game, but maybe one or two more games like this changes that narrative.
