Billy Preston showed he can do more than just score.

Preston is a scorer first and foremost. He’s shown that throughout the Summer League that he’s a guy that knows how and when to find his own shots on the floor. Sunday, he showed that he can do more than that.

Preston finished with 10 points, nine rebounds and a block in the win. He showed that he can be a good rebounder and passer when he wants to be. Preston showed nice court vision as he made a couple nice cross court passes out of double teams.

Whether or not Preston makes it in the NBA will depend on his ability to do other things. Being a talented scorer alone isn’t enough to make it in the league. There’s plenty of talented scorers stuck in the G-League.

Preston has the ability to be a well-rounded player. Whether or not he’s able to contribute consistently on both ends of the floor will determine how long his NBA career will be.
