Team #4: Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder were big winners this offseason. They traded for both Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, and ultimately, they put together a championship-contending team. Richard Jefferson could be a part of that team.

Paul George’s backup is the one and only Kyle Singler. Unlike Singler, Jefferson would be able to help lockdown the second unit when playoff time comes around. In his two trips to the postseason, Singler has played in seven games and combined for eight points. The Thunder, who traded away Doug McDermott will be lacking depth, and Jefferson could be a part of solving that issue. They have the notable players, but they lack experience, and if they want to truly be contending this season, they will need to gain some of that experience.

Jefferson’s value is mostly based on postseason contribution. Unlike others on OKC, Jefferson has a championship ring to his name and that pedigree can take a player quite a long way. OKC needs that Finals’ experience on their side, and acquiring Jefferson would certainly be a cheap way to do so.

Possible trade: Richard Jefferson for a 2018 unconditional first-round pick
