Team #1: The Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets made moves this offseason to enhance their team. They traded seemingly a quarter of their roster for Chris Paul. That alone will make them contenders. Even though they missed out on the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes, they could get another aging veteran in Jefferson.

Jefferson, who can shoot the three with decent competence, would fit well into the grand scheme of things in Houston. The Rockets want to run, and with that mindset, they need to be deep. Jefferson allows them to gain a veteran who won’t make many mistakes and won’t demand too many minutes this season.

With Sam Dekker as their backup small forward and Luc Mbah a Moute as their backup power forward, Jefferson could come in and help split time backing up both of them up. In the Western Conference, the Rockets will need to be deep, and adding Jefferson would certainly help their team depth.

Possible trade: Jefferson for a second-round pick
