John Wall

Guard. 6-4. Washington Wizards. Experience: 3 years.

John Wall is the forgotten Calipari point guard. Derrick Rose was an MVP. Tyreke Evans the rookie of the year. Wall had the misfortune of being thrown into a toxic situation in Washington (as do most number one picks). Injuries have also chipped away at his value, and Kyrie Irving seems well positioned to completely eclipse the once certain greatness of Wall. But a funny thing happened for the Wizards this season. John Wall came back from injury in the midst of yet another dreary campaign, and he led his team to respectability, finishing the second half of the year over .500 and collecting scalps from those they vanquished, teams like the Heat, the Thunder, the Clippers. Wall posted a career best PER of 20.7 this year, improved his shooting percentage, his scoring, and still dished a very respectable 7.6 assists per game. With the Wizards crawling out of permanent garbage time they will look to their best player to continue his ascent. It looks like Wall is just about to be that transformative guy we all figured he’d be.
