Cavaliers trade starter for Lakers playoff star in LSL pitch
Laying out the trade proposal between Cavaliers and Lakers
The trade laid out by Lake Show Life was relatively simple. They want a strong defensive center to pair with Anthony Davis, allowing him to play the bulk of his minutes at the four and alleviate the wear-and-tear on his body. In return, they would give up one of their new young building blocks in order to bring in Jarrett Allen. Does that mean Austin Reaves?
No, it does not:
For the Lakers, they would be establishing a defensive juggernaut inside. The pairing of Anthony Davis and Jarrett Allen would make it nearly impossible for opponents to score inside, and they could build the rest of their defense from there. It seems like the floor-spacing issues for the Lakers would be similar to what Cleveland is currently facing, but perhaps the trade-off is worth it for them.
Lake Show Life explains that the Cavs would be interested in this deal for Rui Hachimura because they would be getting a young building block who can help them prioritize shooting around Evan Mobley. The problem with that theory? It’s not really true.
