The Cleveland Cavaliers want to get where the Los Angeles Lakers have been. Four seasons ago they won the NBA Championship, and this past year they made it to the Conference Finals, led of course by LeBron James. Since The King left Cleveland, the Cavs haven’t made it further than last year’s five-game First Round exit.

The clear-cut advantage that the Cavs have is a much younger roster, with their stars early in their primes; the Lakers have an injury-plagued big man in Anthony Davis and a LeBron James old enough to get discount lunches at the local diner.

That’s what prompted our sister site Lake Show Life to consider pitching a trade to bring in a full-time starting center to play alongside Davis. That would reduce the wear-and-tear on Davis, give the team some much-needed youth, and help them to achieve defensive excellence along the line of the Cavaliers last season.

The Lakers could be after a Cavaliers All-Star

How do the Lakers make this two-big lineup a reality? They would be trading for All-Star center Jarrett Allen. The Cavaliers have reportedly considered the possibility of dealing Allen, but the package would have to be right to break up their twin towers look.

Was this trade something the Cavs should consider? Let’s take a closer look at the details of what Cleveland would get back from Los Angeles.
