With only one spot remaining on a suddenly immensely talented roster, there are many thoughts on what the Cleveland Cavaliers should do. Should they try and swing a trade for an established wing using Kevin Love’s massive contract, such as Gordon Hayward? They could look at a couple of free agent shooters like Wayne Ellington or Tony Snell, who both shot near 40% from deep last year.

However, last week the Cavs decided to take a different approach and reportedly brought in nine players for a two-day workout last Tuesday and Wednesday, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com. One of those players was former Uniontown Lake high school standout Chandler Vaudrin, and another was Jamorko Pickett, also per a further Fedor report.

Vaudrin actually played with the Cavaliers last offseason during Summer League in Las Vegas. But, unfortunately the 25-year-old guard tore his ACL during a game versus the New Orleans Pelicans and has spent the past year rehabbing his knee and working to get another shot to play in the NBA. Apparently, the Cavaliers were thoroughly convinced his knee is healed, and over the weekend he earned an invite to training camp.

The Cavaliers reportedly kept tabs on Vaudrin during his recovery, and remained interested throughout the past year. Vaudrin even attended a couple of Cavalier games this past year.

Most of the front office got a good look at him last summer, but even after the injury, most felt he was worth another closer look during training camp.
