#1: A savvy and experienced veteran

Mitchell came into the league in 2017 and has helped the Utah Jazz become a regular in the playoffs. The team has been in the playoffs all five years Mitchell has been with the team. That experience could only help the Cavaliers if he were traded for.

The Cavs have put together a young team that showed great progress this past season. They have some players on the team like Kevin Love who has playoff experience but beyond that their team is lacking in this department. Mitchell would instantly help Cleveland reach that next step.

Mitchell’s time in the playoffs has been a mix of good and bad. He’s played in seven series’ over the five years. That would suggest while the Jazz are getting to the playoffs they aren’t going far beyond the first round.

Mitchell’s averages have all gone up in the playoffs so he does all that he can do as a player. His scoring average goes up to 28.3 points a game and his assists average goes up to 4.7 a game.

#2: He’s a terrific scorer

The scoring has always been consistent for Mitchell as he’s averaged over 20 points a game his whole career. In the last two seasons, he’s bumped his average up to closer to 26 points a game. He’s been increasing his three-point shooting every season where he was averaging 10 shots a game. He’s been around 35% on those three-point attempts, and it’s hardly been just via catch-and-shoots, either.

His two-point shot attempts have increased each season as well where he was averaging around 11 shots a game and that average on makes increased to 53% this past year.

The Cavaliers saw players like Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen increase their production this past season. Garland jumped up to averaging 21.7 points a game, and looks to be one of the game’s best young point guards. Allen increased his scoring averaging by three points a game up to 16 points.

While the team is improving they still need more scoring and Mitchell would do that in bunches.
