It’s clear that the Cleveland Cavaliers need depth on the perimeter. Isaac Okoro, Cedi Osman, Dylan Windler (when healthy), and Denzel Valentine are not enough to consistently knock down shots on offense while slowing down their opponents on the other end.

Last season, Osman and Okoro combined for 20 points per game on 42.6 percent from the field while shooting 29.8 percent percent from three-point range. In the modern NBA, below average shooting percentages won’t cut it, especially coming from the wing positions.

Osman has been off to a relatively good to start the season, scoring 7.3 points per game on 45.8 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from three. The shooting is encouraging, but we can’t expect this to continue given his glaring inconsistencies.

Okoro is a promising defender, but his scoring is extremely limited. The 20-year-old is averaging 7 points per game on 47.8 percent from the field and he has made just one shot from deep this season on 5 attempts. Yes, the team is just four games into the season, but Okoro is showing no signs of being a threat on the outside that defenders have to respect.

Adding efficient shooters was considered a top priority going into the 2021 offseason after the Cavaliers shot a league-worst 33.6 percent from three last season. While the new additions weren’t earth-shattering shooters, general manager Koby Altman and the Cavs front office did bring in players who are considered to be average to above average shooters (maybe two of them) in Evan Mobley, Lauri Markkanen, Ricky Rubio and Denzel Valentine.

However, this season looks to be off to a very similar start in the shooting department. So far, the Cavs are fourth-worst in the NBA in three-point shooting at 30.3 percent and second-to-last in three-pointers made with 9.2 per game.

With inconsistencies at the wing positions, the Cavs could use some reliable vets that can get it done on both ends of the floor.

To that point, here, we’ll take a look at three potential Cavs trade ideas that could add scoring on the wing for them.

Let’s get started, with the first trade idea next.
