The Cavs’ second West Coast road trip in January

If the beginning of the season wasn’t enough, the Cavs go back to the West Coast at the beginning of January 2022. I hope the Wine and Gold are still standing at this point.

First the Cavs go out to Portland to face the Trail Blazers on Jan. 7. They follow that with a back-to-back series, first playing the Golden State Warriors on Jan. 9 and then the Sacramento Kings the following night. They then go out to the mountains and Salt Lake City to play the Utah Jazz.

From the mountains, they’ll go down to the southern part of Texas to face the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 14, in the first of a back-to-back night again for the Wine and Gold. The following evening, they play the Oklahoma City Thunder. Last season, Cleveland went 2-10 against these teams on this road trip.

So that’s a six-game road trip that’ll continue to test the will power of this young Cavs team.  A year ago this team only won 9 games on the road all season and lost 27 games there. So, any type of success on the road this season will be a key to the Cavaliers having a chance at the playoffs.
