#2: If needed, Sexton can run the show some

Sexton continues to show growth as a passer, even since the All-Star break in which J.B. Bickerstaff took over as head coach, and Bickerstaff has recently highlighted that, too.

In these 10 games post-All-Star break, in which the Cleveland Cavaliers are 5-5 under the direction of Bickerstaff, Sexton is showing that if needed, such as with Garland sidelined, he can run the show some and get pieces such as Kevin Love, Cedi Osman, Larry Nance Jr. and others involved with on-target deliveries more consistently than in the past.

Post-All-Star break, though turnovers have come from over-dribbling still have come for Sexton, who has had 3.5 turnovers per contest in that span, Collin has at least had 4.1 assists per contest, as noted by NBA.com. He also had 4.5 per outing this past week.

While Sexton is not capable of having a Matthew Dellavedova-like game, in which Delly had a career-high 14 assists against Denver, Sexton is showing much more willingness to give the ball when it’s the right play, such as to Cedi Osman in this instance.

This progression has been really good to see as a Cavs fan when projecting what’s to come for Sexton in terms of near future growth, and this nomination again, to me, showed that if needed, Collin is showing he’s able to set the table some.

Lastly, the third takeaway sort of encapsulates Sexton’s growth as a whole.
