Sexton’s overall grade thus far: C

Collin Sexton is still only 21 years old, and still needs to improve in certain areas, but for this year and going forward he’s a big asset for the Cleveland Cavaliers and there still is a lot to like with him.

No Sexton probably isn’t a future star, but he’s someone who is a dynamic scorer and has the ability to be a high-level defender down the road.

Nonetheless, I’ve believed for a while and with what Sexton has shown as a scorer this year, his profile ideally fits as a future sixth man, well in times when Kevin Porter Jr., who is sidelined with a reported knee sprain, is healthy, at least.

Sexton could be a future Sixth Man of the Year, too, but he still needs to get drastically better in regards to his vision/playmaking.

There are far too many easy plays for pieces such as Osman or say extra passes to Garland or Kevin Love that Sexton misses, and those plays have hurt the Cavaliers too much throughout these 43 games thus far in 2019-20.

Next. Three takeaways from Cavs' six-game road trip. dark

Sexton improving his vision/playmaking is of course, a big part of that. If Sexton can get better in those areas I believe his upside could possibly be of that to Lou Williams, who is a very underrated passer, and who has had a huge impact and plays an integral role on an LA Clippers team that has championship aspirations.
