2019-20 stats predictions for Nance: 8.8 PPG on 60.1% true shooting, 7.0 RPG, 3.0 APG, 25.5 MPG and 74 games active

Nance had a very good season in 2018-19, as KJG contributors have often mentioned, and I believe he’ll be one of the team’s best overall players again in 2019-20 and probably in the foreseeable future.

Last year, Nance had career-highs in points (9.4), rebounds (8.2), assists (3.2), steals (1.5) and minutes per game (26.8), per Basketball Reference. He also showed a bit of three-point shooting ability, as in his first year really shooting it from deep on a regular basis, Nance shot a respectable (for a roller, in particular) 33.7% on triples (again per Basketball Reference).

Of course, some of the reason for that was due to injuries to Love and Thompson, but Nance’s impact on both ends of the floor for Beilein and the coaching staff will be considerable, at any rate, in 2019-20 and coming years.

Playing in Beilein’s ball and man movement-predicated offense, Nance’s passing and rolling ability (he led all regular rotation players, really in assists per game last year), should be a key part of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ offense, and with Thompson and/or Henson’s likely departure at some point, Nance’s minutes-share should definitely go up more so, as he’s probably the team’s best overall defender, too, that should help out Love in some instances, and make sure defensive communication is on-point as a growing leader on Cleveland.

The only issue with Nance is he’s never been active in more than 67 games in his four-year career at this point, so I could see him missing some action here and there.
