The Cleveland Cavaliers have gained some momentum going into the last part of the season thanks to a promising NBA trade deadline, and I asked members of the KJG team about that and All-Star Weekend.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have seemed to be playing better as of late, and that’s a result of them being re-energized with some new pieces to the rotation post-trade deadline. Cleveland’s last two games before the All-Star break, for example, were solid performances.

Against the New York Knicks on Monday night, the Cavs had a nice outing with a hard-fought win, and got the job done with defense near the end, while sharing the basketball. Following that, they had a tough loss to the much-improved Brooklyn Nets in triple overtime, but there was plenty to build on from that one.

It’s no secret that Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman has done all he can to accumulate future draft assets in the coming years throughout this season. The deals that Altman and the Cavs were involved in near the 2019 trade deadline proved that philosophy even more.

Just take a look back at the details surrounding Cleveland reportedly trading Rodney Hood to the Portland Trail Blazers, and the details surrounding how Brandon Knight and Marquese Chriss eventually were reportedly traded to Cleveland in a three-team deal involving the Sacramento Kings and Houston Rockets.

Nik Stauskas eventually signed with the Cavs for the rest of this season, too, for the record.

In this roundtable discussion, I asked some members of the KJG team how they felt about the post-deadline outlook involving Altman’s trade additions, potential drafting and the upcoming draft night, and what the guys thought about All-Star Weekend.

Kevin Love was a key part of the discussion as well.

So let’s get to it.
