The Cavs could once again be respectable thanks to lottery luck

2020 has a potential superstar, too
As I mentioned above the Cavs will likely be playing the lottery game for the next two years and by the looks of it there could potentially be some big-time prospects in the next couple drafts. In the 2020 NBA Draft, as of now, the number one prospect is guard Anthony Edwards.
Edwards has already drawn comparisons to James Harden, as was demonstrated by Brian Snow of 247 Sports.
"“At 6-foot-5, a strong body, high level athleticism, and elite shot making, Edwards has the look of someone who could be the next James Harden.”"
Here’s a bit more of what Snow had to say in terms of Edwards’ inside-out threat.
"“Edwards has the ability to pull up from 25 feet and be a weapon shooting, he can attack off the rim and take advantage of smaller or slower defenders, and then also he is a good passer when the opportunity presents itself. What is somewhat surprising about Edwards is how explosive he is as an athlete. Edwards has a thick frame that makes you think he is going to only be average as an athlete, but that is definitely not the case. He finishes well above the rim, can move his feet on defense, and has a dynamic first step. Quite simply the scoring ability, and potential in every other aspect of the game, combined with the high motor he brings basically every time he is out on the court, makes Edwards the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2019. When you put it all together, Edwards is both the most complete player in terms of production, and has the highest ceiling with his potential. As good as Edwards is now, he is destined to get a lot better, and also his skillset fits in perfectly with the direction basketball is going.”"
The next couple of drafts could be very interesting, but one draft to keep an eye on and admittedly is still a couple years away is the 2022 NBA Draft. For a number of reasons that is a draft many Cleveland Cavaliers fans should really keep a eye on.
