Prediction No. 1: Love snags sixth All-Star appearance

Kevin Love doesn’t have to do that much to be an all-star for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Last season, he made an appearance as one of the East’s all-star frontcourt players and averaged a mere 17.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.

This season, he should easily be able to top those averages. The second question is would a 20 point and 10 rebound average even secure him an all-star spot in a very underrated Eastern Conference.

Players like Al Horford, Brook Lopez and Dario Saric should all have their pitch to be an all-star along with several other frontcourt players like Jayson Tatum almost guaranteed a spot for the first time.

With James out West, that frontcourt spot to start in the East opens up, which should be taken by Kawhi Leonard. However, that’s dependent on the fact that Kawhi returns to his former self.

Could Love capture it if he doesn’t have a great first half of the season?

In the end, Love is the main option on a team that could be in playoff contention come mid-February. That said, unless the Cavs turn out to be far worse than anticipated and Love’s numbers are significantly underwhelming, he should easily be looking at his sixth all-star appearance.

While that take isn’t too bold, the next two might have you thinking I’m crazy.
