The Cleveland Cavaliers will be more dependent than ever on big man Kevin Love. Will he reward that dependency with wins and a playoff berth?

For the first time in four seasons, Kevin Love will be the best player on the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, there are sacrifices that come with K-Love taking over. One is the lack of true championship contention for the Cavaliers.

The past four seasons have been undoubtedly some of the best in Cleveland basketball’s history, but a new era is upon us, an era where development is as crucial as winning. That era will feature players like Cedi Osman and Collin Sexton.

For Gilbert and company, the renovations to the beautiful Quicken Loans Arena seem to be one reason he plans to continue his push towards relevance. He wants to sell tickets, and as a businessman, you can’t blame him for that.

Will that path hinder the development of the younger player or will it enhance it?

Regardless of how the Cavs path towards success happens, the Kevin Love that had multiple MVP-caliber seasons needs to come back. If the Cavs plan to make the postseason and slide their way into the East’s playoff bracket, they need the player Love used to be.

That said, I think that player will come back this season. I’m confident the old Kevin Love is still in there, and here are three bold predictions about how his season will go and how he’ll shock all the doubters in Cleveland.
