Cleveland Cavaliers: What we learned vs. Atlanta Hawks
The Cavs are fun again.
Watching the Cavs this last month has been awful. They have been a slow, unathletic team that wasn’t having any fun. That team appears to be in the rear-view mirror.
Cleveland was playing fun basketball again. All five players were giving it all on both ends of the floor.
I’m not an expert on body language, but it appears the joy is back. Let’s see if that joy carries over for the rest of the season.
Cedi Osman is exactly what the Cavs need.
The Cavaliers shipped veteran Dwyane Wade back to Miami in part to give Osman more minutes. After the last two games, it’s easy to see why the Cavaliers have put their faith in the 22-year-old rookie.
Osman is providing the spark-plug that this team desperately needs. He’s an athletic, high-energy wing that is always in the right place at the right time.
Osman has the potential of playing the Jae Crowder role the way the Crowder wasn’t capable of. Osman is showing how he can attack in transition, defend all positions, and make the right decisions with the basketball.
The Cavs are giving Osman a chance to star in his role. It doesn’t look like that’s an opportunity he’s going to waste.
