The combination of LeBron James and Dwyane would be amazing for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are the best of friends. They have won championships together, and in Miami, they formed a Batman/Robin like duo that put the Miami Heat into the Finals every year that LeBron played with the team. Now Dwyane Wade is thinking about joining the Cleveland Cavaliers and the tandem would be trying to rekindle their past successes. This would be a good idea.

In a Magic Johnson book, I read that when Magic Johnson would play on the blacktop he wouldn’t choose to play with the best players. He would choose to play with the players that fit a specific role and would benefit the team instead of overwhelming the opposing team with superstar talent. LeBron must have not have read that book and wants to play with the best players.

The thing is that it has worked.

LeBron has been to the finals ever since 2011 while playing on “superteams” and it is looking like nobody will stop him now. Even the Boston Celtics who look like the second best in the east do not look to measure up to the talent that the Cavaliers roster has. Adding Dwyane Wade would make LeBron unstoppable because the two play so well together. In the two championship years that LeBron played in Miami, he averaged 27.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists in 2011-12 and in 2012-13 he averaged 26.8 points, eight rebounds, and 7.3 assists. Both years were MVP seasons.

Dwyane Wade averaged 22.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 2011-12 and 21.2 points with five rebounds and 5.1 assists in 2012-13. They both had solid numbers that stuffed the stat sheet and won while doing it which is most important. Also having Dwyane Wade on his team might convince James to stay on the Cavaliers. LeBron is trying to continue his quest to play on different superteams with making the ultimate superteam with him, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony all possibly joining the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018. If Dwyane Wade would be able to join the Cavaliers maybe that would keep LeBron in Cleveland for a while because they could see themselves creating that team in Cleveland.

On the court, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade know how to find each other and play with one another. From full court passes to baseline slashes both players just have a knack for playing together. The Cavaliers know they want to win now so adding the experience that Wade has in terms of playing in big time games would benefit them.

The Cavaliers are in a good position right now with the roster that they have now. Isaiah Thomas may not be ready at the beginning of the season but they have the depth and experience at point guard that will make up for it. Derrick Rose and Jose Calderone will be able to make up for the loss of Isaiah Thomas for a little while. Adding Dwyane Wade will benefit the team in terms of depth. It will help Dwyane Wade’s career too because the Cavaliers are going to start him if he joins the team.

That would be a better deal for him instead of the Heat’s deal where they would have him coming off the bench.
