The Cavaliers are preparing for life after LeBron James
LeBron is heading to the Lakers
The LeBron to the Lakers talk has really started to wear on the nerves of some members of Cavs Nation. This is understandable, but burying your head in the sand changes nothing. It wasn’t accidental that LeBron turned up to witness the shoe maverick Lonzo Ball in action.

For the entire summer league there was a buzz around Lonzo Ball and the Lakers, the Lakers are definitely relevant again. If they continue on their present trajectory, Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball will be where Kyrie was when LeBron rejoined the Cavaliers. The Lakers will be in the position to sign multiple marquee free agents including LeBron James come the summer of 2018. LeBron James has been to seven straight NBA finals, so it is a fair conclusion that LeBron on a team will lead to a Finals appearance.
This is no longer a given in the Western conference which is ruled by the Juggernaut known as the Golden State Warriors. The Hulk can battle the Juggernaut, and certainly a team consisting of Lonzo, Ingram, George, Cousins and LeBron would be equivalent to the Hulk. It wouldn’t be farfetched to imagine this team hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy.
LeBron has only so many years left as a dominant NBA player and he can’t afford to waste any of them. Once this Lakers team is assembled, the team will be an immediate threat to dethrone the Warriors as champions.
Unlike 2017-18 which seems like a coronation for the Warriors, they will have genuine competition in 2018-19, and LeBron and his Lakers will be at the heart of this competition.
