Cavaliers, Bulls, Hornets 3-team trade

Cleveland Cavaliers receive Jimmy Butler

Chicago Bulls receive Nicolas Batum, Charlotte’s 2018 first-round draft pick and 2019 second-round draft pick

Charlotte Hornets receive Kevin Love

Now that we know the benefits that Butler brings to Cleveland, let’s touch on Nicolas Batum to Chicago. Batum is a long and athletic wing player. He is 6’8, and can do a little bit of everything, like a poor man’s Scottie Pippen. Batum averaged 15.1 points per game last season on 33.3% shooting from beyond the arc. His rebounding (6.2) and assists (5.9) are proficient enough to replace Jimmy Butler. The first and second-round draft picks allow Chicago to fill its roster with young talent for the future.

Kemba Walker finally gets an All-Star teammate in Charlotte. Walker is one of the best point guards in the East, and he has carried Charlotte for the past several seasons. Kevin Love gives the Hornets a much-needed low post presence after loosing Al Jefferson. Love’s ability to stretch the floor should open up more driving lanes for Walker.
