Cavaliers, Bulls, Nuggets 3-team trade

Cleveland Cavaliers receive Jimmy Butler and Roy Hibbert

Chicago Bulls receive Kennth Faried, Will Barton, and Edy Tavares and Denver’s 2018 first-round pick

Denver Nuggets receive Kevin Love and Christiano Felicio

Roy Hibbert adds an interesting dynamic to the Cavs’ roster. He is an experienced veteran who made several deep playoff runs in Indiana. He is also a solid rim protector. Hibbert averaged a block in just 16 minutes per game last season, but his 7’2 frame alone alters shots in the paint. He is also capable of scoring in post up situations. Hibbert would serve Cleveland well in limited minutes.

Chicago receives power forward Kenneth Faried, who saw his minutes slashed last season with Nikola Jokic’s emergence in Denver. Faried can score 10-13 points and grab 7-9 rebounds a game if given the proper minutes. He’s a high energy guy who despite not being the most talented, refuses to be out hustled. Will Barton is an athletic freak who can get out in transition and dunk with the best of them. He rebounds (4.3) and assists (3.4) at a proficient rate and his 37% three-point percentage will help Chicago space the floor. Chicago was the 3rd worst team last season in makes from beyond the arc. Edy Tavares adds shot blocking to Chicago’s defense. In his lone game last season, Tavares had six blocks and ten rebounds in 24 minutes. Tavares has only played 13 games in his young NBA career, so his upside is that of a mystery.

Denver adds Kevin Love who will play beside emerging big man Nikola Jokic. The two would form one of the best power forward-center duos in the NBA. The Nuggets attempted the 9th most threes per game last year, and Love’s presence would likely push that mark even higher. Denver would also receive Cristiano Felicio from Chicago. Felicio fits best with Denver as a backup center who can do all of the dirty work. He sets solid picks and can catch lobs rolling to the hoop.
