Reviewing The Cleveland Cavaliers Assets

News of what star player the Kings want, at what position, and the likely add-ins to the trade have not been determined. One would think they’d be looking for a star player, a defensive-minded two guard, at least one first round pick, and another useful player or two, which the Cavaliers have plenty of to deal.

Kevin Love is still a questionable fit in Cleveland for good reason, Iman Shumpert has been available and becoming expendable behind the play of Jordan McRae, and the Cleveland Cavaliers have multiple first round picks.

Though Mo Williams is a beloved player, he could be more useful to the Kings than to Cleveland after rookie Kay Felder has showcased serious potential so far in Summer League.

That’s in addition to McRae showing the ability to play point guard, LeBron James still being the most gifted point-forward in the league, and Kyrie Irving being Kyrie Irving.

Channing Frye is a valuable player for the Cavaliers. However, with multiple frontcourt targets this offseason, and after an NBA Finals where he barely could get on the court after starring in the previous playoff rounds, he could be expendable for Cleveland, though obviously very valuable.

Frye could intrigue the Sacramento Kings as a backup big who can stretch the floor. Anthony Tolliver has been one of their offseason acquisitions, but a 6-foot-8 combo forward is not a viable option to backup the center position.

Papagiannis, their 13th overall pick, has struggled so far in Summer League and will need time to adjust to the speed of the game to develop.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have interest in Ben McLemore and rookie Malachi Richardson seems poised to take all the glory that should have been his.

There are multiple ways and reasons this trade works for both sides.
