While Mozgov isn’t a great shooter, he is confident on baseline shots. The Cavs are more likely to look for defense and size in replacing Mozgov, they may have to settle for a big who can shoot some.

Markieff Morris

We have covered him too many times. He is an option.

Andrew Nicholson

The Cavs and Magic have already made a deal together, for Joe Harris. Orlando isn’t going anywhere this year and Nicholson isn’t a lot of playing time, under 17 minutes a game. Tristan’s fellow Canadian is a good shooter, shooting 46% from the floor this year and 47% for his career. He has also added a decent 3 point stroke at 36%.

Nicholson would backup Love as well as give the Cavs a small ball center who can match up with some lineups. Whether the Cavs can figure out what the Magic would want for him is another question.

Adreian Payne

Payne was one of my favorite players in the draft. From Dayton, OH, Payne is already 24 and has been traded once already in his early NBA career. The T’Wolves are not using him this year like they did last year. Averaging 10 minutes in the 28 games he has played, Payne has gotten lost.

Coming out of Michigan State, Payne was a good shooter and was a shot blocker. Maybe the Cavs can find a role for him and give him the confidence to produce. They did the same thing for Timo last year.

(Payne might be my favorite buy low, high hopes guy.)
