Brendan Haywood: 5 Trade Scenarios Still Possible

The final deal is one that makes a ton of sense. The Boston Celtics just keep acquiring guards without a seemingly plan for the future. Avery Bradley is signed for 3 more years at over $7.5 million for each of those seasons. Bradley isn’t worth that much for a rebuilding Celtics who need to find time for young players Marcus Smart, Terry Rozier and R.J. Hunter, along with Isaiah Thomas. Getting an asset and cap space is the best the Celtics can do.
For the Cavs, Bradley is a perfect fit. He can start or come off the bench, is a very good defender and a good shooter. He averaged 14 points and 3 rebounds last year while shooting 43% from the field and 35% from deep. Bradley can defend point guards and off guards, giving Kyrie some time on the easier player on the opposing team. He is a gritty defender, fitting what we saw from the Cavs in the Finals.

With 3 more seasons on his contract, the 24 year old Bradley would join the young core of the Cavs that will be together for a few years. For the Cavs that makes his salary reasonable, especially with the cap spike we are expecting. Bradley also should be able to continue his development on the offensive side of the court.
How Likely? 60% – With all of their guards, the Celtics are bound to move someone this year. The Cavs would benefit from his youth, shooting and defensive abilities. He would fit with the young core the Cavs have put around LeBron, being around for at least 3 years.
