NBA Power Rankings: Week Nine
By Peter Owen
7. Houston Rockets (LW: 6)
Handled their handful of games over the holidays that came with the added caveat of minor injuries to James Harden and Jeremy Lin. Dwight Howard has been back near his dominant best in some of the holiday games, none more than his 35 points and 19 rebounds against Detroit’s huge frontcourt.
ORtg: 107.4, DRtg: 102.4
8. Phoenix Suns (LW: 9)
No matter how many games they’ve played or rankings are published with the Suns in the top ten, I still can’t help but laugh at the absurdity that is the Phoenix Suns. They traded away their veteran players, handed huge minute loads to young or unproven players and installed a first-year head coach and instead of piling up losses they’ve forced ESPN to move their game against Minnesota onto National TV at the Lakers’ expense. Yes, you read that right.
