5. Miami Heat

Tough to look past the Indiana loss as a sign the Heat still have issues rebounding the ball. Roy Hibbert looked like a man against boys attacking the glass against Miami this week. Erik Spoelstra didn’t help things by refusing to suit up Greg Oden – possibly health related – and Udonis Haslem received a DNP despite being their best big-man defender.

6. Houston Rockets

Dwight Howard is shooting free-throws well, James Harden continues to waltz to the rim while defenses collapse around him and the Rockets have enough outside shooters to keep opponents from doubling the stars.

Even the ongoing Omer Asik situation is being dealt with reasonably well. Now the December 15th moratorium on trading contracts signed this summer has passed, expect the Turkish big man to be relocated soon.
