Game 57: Denver Nuggets 111, Portland Trail Blazers 109
Highlights: backdoor dunk, steal and transition dunk, stripped LaMarcus Aldridge for transition drunk,
Game Score: 25.4
Box Score: 29 points (11-20 field goals, 2-7 three-pointers, 5-10 free throws), 7 rebounds, 8 assists (5 turnovers), 5 steals, 1 block (2 fouls) in 43 mins (0)
Story: This was one of those games where Iguodala brought a lot to the table but took a lot off too. Missing five threes and five free throws in a two-point game is bad, as is turning the ball over five times. On the other hand, Iguodala tied his season high in a game where every one was vital, forced five turnovers and crucially deferred to a hot Ty Lawson. Certain superstars who shall not be named would have insisted on running the crunchtime offense themselves despite a mismatch. Damian Lillard is a poor defender, Wesley Matthews is a rich one, and Nic Batum is 6’8″ with long arms. Iguodala was even hotter than Lawson heading into the last few minutes, but he chose not to undermine his coach or teammate for his own ego.
