9. Zaza Pachulia
From: Atlanta Hawks
To: Milwaukee Bucks
Contract: 3 years/$15.6 million
Rationale: Milwaukee’s big man rotation is crowded. Zaza Pachulia is not a scrub, and his contract is just above league-average. In a vacuum, signing Pachulia is a ho-hum transaction, but in this specific context, he’s a bit pricey for injury insurance. Ersan Ilyasova is a safe bet to start at power forward, and Larry Sanders will start every game he’s not suspended from. John Henson’s minutes could reasonably double after a breakout Summer League, so Pachulia is looking at splitting about 15 minutes a night with Ekpe Udoh and Gustavo Ayon.
