Rationale: Originally, the Warriors frantically tried to shed salary to acquire Dwight Howard. Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings were courting Andre Iguodala as part of a culture change, until they changed their minds. Iguodala was key to Denver’s franchise-best season, and he might have been interested in running it back had the Nuggets not cut ties with both the Coach of the Year and the Executive of the Year, though embittered fans believe they lost their chance once the Warriors upset the Nuggets in the first round of the 2013 playoffs.
