Cleveland Cavaliers

The good news for the Cavaliers is that they have one of the best and most talented starting fives in the NBA. The bad news for the team is that they have a coach in J.B Bickerstaff who doesn’t have the coaching ability to get this team to the championship series and win it.

If the Cavs change head coaches and maintain the same players in the future, for the most part, then they may have a better shot at a title, but until then it will be impossible.

I don’t care to be the bearer of bad news, but that’s pretty much a lock on what will happen with this team and its future if they keep Bickerstaff as the head coach.

The worst part of this is that this Cleveland team is built to win a title now but won’t get that chance if they keep Bickerstaff around. Maybe after another season of blunders by Bickerstaff and his staff, the front office will move on from Bickerstaff and bring in a more veteran and seasoned coach.

The best player Donovan Mitchell is also a player that could move on sooner than later if this team doesn’t have more success soon. The trade rumors don’t seem to be going away, anyhow, even if Mitchell hasn’t seemed to have any lack of buy-in by any means.

The Cavaliers brought him to town to give this team a chance at a title but they forgot to get a new head coach at the same time. With Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley all coming into their prime years as players, this window for a run at championships will stay open but Bickerstaff is blocking that breeze flowing through that window.

If this unit can’t be regular participants in the postseason or if they are getting beat early in rounds like they did last season when they got run out of the building by the underdog New York Knicks, then the Cavs front office needs to address the coaching problem.

So in the end, the Cavaliers probably have the most talented group, but they need a better head coach to get them to the championship.  The Browns have a solid team but have not been a regular participant in the playoffs and need some luck along the way.

Finally, the Guardians have had success over the years and could get back to the postseason but they have a new manager now, and they’re not spending enough money on talent and will not likely get very far in future seasons.
