The best Cleveland Cavaliers to wear each uniform number
We are getting to the more popular numbers, making each selection more difficult; we start with a solo artist, however.
#36: Omri Casspi
One of the best Israeli players to come through the NBA, Casspi runs unopposed as the only Cleveland player to wear the number 36.
#35: Danny Ferry
There are plenty of names to choose from at #36, from Jim Cleamons to Phil Hubbard. Danny Ferry gets the nod for more volume of games, but none were particularly impactful.
#34: Austin Carr
Austin Carr was the franchise’s first star, making the All-Star Game in 1974 and playing 635 games all told for Cleveland. He was a high-volume scoring wing whose best season saw him pour in 21.9 points per game.
#33: Shaquille O’Neal
Shaq was absolutely dominant in multiple stops around the league, winning four titles and establishing one of the 10 best careers in NBA history. His late-career stint in Cleveland was more mellow, but he was still a solid rotation piece on a contending team.
#32: Roy Hinson
There was some real competition with John Johnson, Larry Hughes and Roy Hinson at #32. Hinson wins, as the 6’9″ forward developed into a prolific producer in his three years in Cleveland.
#31: Jarrett Allen
Jarrett Allen made an All-Star Game at center for the Cavaliers and is still adding to his ledger, clearly elevating him to the top of the list for #31.
#30: Mike Mitchell
Mitchell was a 6’7″ forward drafted 15th overall by Cleveland in the 1978 NBA Draft. He spent 3.5 seasons with the Cavaliers, peaking as an All-Star in 1980-81 while averaging 24.5 points and 6.1 rebounds.
