Best-case for Evan Mobley’s career from here

If we’re just talking Evan Mobley’s best-case scenario for his career, he probably will have more than one Defensive Player of the Year award throughout his entire career. Considering that he’s already one of the league’s best defensive players at such a young age, it’s safe to believe that when his career is all said and done, he will be one of the NBA’s best defenders of all time.

Also, he should have many All-Star games under his belt, most likely. Looking at Rudy Gobert, he has three All-Star appearances for his career, even though he’s never been an offensively-gifted player at any time. Even so, his stifling defense was the main reason that he was given multiple All-Star nods, as well as four All-NBA teams, one second team and the other three third team appearances.

Even though Rudy Gobert was and still is a great NBA player, Mobley’s ceiling is higher than Gobert’s peak ever was. Mobley has been getting comparisons to the likes of Anthony Davis and even NBA legend Kevin Garnett, which makes sense. If Mobley can ever become a more competent offensive player, he’s going to be a successful NBA player, no doubt.

In this best-case scenario, Mobley would be in the Hall of Fame, and be a first ballot HOF player, as well. Hopefully, Mobley will have his jersey number retired by the Cleveland Cavaliers, for the many years of basketball that he gave to the city of Cleveland in that case. Most importantly, Mobley and the other Cavaliers will hoist their second Larry O’Brien trophy, and Mobley earning Finals MVP.

Yes, this scenario is very fortuitous, but it could happen. Mobley’s career trajectory looks very promising, and there’s no reason that he cannot become one of the best NBA players of all time. The NBA released their 75th anniversary team back in 2022, and they will probably do the same once the 100th NBA season happens. It isn’t impossible where Mobley finds his name on the list of the 100 greatest NBA players of all time.

All in all, Evan Mobley has a promising career ahead of him, and has many more seasons left until he retires.

He’s going into his third season with the Cavs soon, and this coming season looks like it will be the best one of his short career so far. I, for one, am really excited to see what the future holds for Evan Mobley, and am really excited for the season to start, as well.
