Free Agent No. 1: Malik Beasley, Wing

The final free agent on our list is the most expensive option, but also one who adds something specific to the team. If the goal this offseason is to add shooting, Malik Beasley is the best free agent still on the market, a high-volume movement shooter who would help the Cavaliers’ offense blow the doors off of opposing defenses.

Last season, Stephen Curry led the league in 3-point attempts per-36 minutes, launching 11.9. His Splash Brother Klay Thompson was second. Third on the list? Malik Beasley, who got up 11.3 longshots per-36 minutes. Beasley is entirely unafraid to launch the basketball, and that level of volume and confidence makes defenders stay glued to him.

Beasley only hit 35.7 percent of his 3-pointers, and it’s that lack of elite accuracy that has left him on the market thus far; he wasn’t a top priority for any NBA teams. Still, even an entire season is a relatively small sample size, and the upside of a player unafraid to shoot with his movement skills could be worth dipping into the luxury tax on a full Bi-Annual Exception deal ($4.5 million).

None of these players would be game-changing additions, but that’s because the Cavaliers already accomplished their top goals in free agency. They had a mission, and they executed it. Could any of these players help them stick the landing?
