Reason No. 2 Bates will blossom: The Cavs developmental staff

The Cavs have one of the best developmental staffs in the league, and the results speak for themselves. Darius Garland went from one of the worst players in the league as a rookie to an All-Star point guard three years. Isaac Okoro went from not being able to shoot the ball into the ocean to a 36% shooter from three.

Dean Wade went from an undrafted no-name to a solid three and D role player. Evan Mobley has developed into one of the better young players in the league and an elite defender, as he became the youngest finalist ever for the Defensive Player of the Year award.

The reason the Cavs have been able to rebuild so fast is because of their player development staff. Giving Bates the opportunity to work with JJ Outlaw, and Andrew Olson will do wonders for his development as a player. Bates can also be brought along slowly, as he will likely be spending time in the G-League as well to get reps, so there is no pressure for him to contribute right away.

He has a chance to really tap into his potential due to the pedigree of the Cavs staff.
