5 Jarrett Allen trades that get Cavaliers closer to title contention
By Tyler Watts
1. Cavaliers add Jerami Grant in potential game-changer
This one may be the most interesting as it gets the Cavaliers a game-changing forward for their All-Star center. Jerami Grant is a strong scorer and floor spacer that could be a seamless fit in Cleveland. The Blazers would love to add a starting big man to replace Jusuf Nurkic, so the trade could be beneficial for both sides, but would either actually do it?
Grant is the superior scorer and a more versatile defender. The Cavaliers would have to agree to a sign-and-trade to acquire him, which would hard cap them for the remainder of the season. Cleveland would likely need to give back Okoro to make the math work and convince Portland to accept this deal.
This trade figures to get more discussion if the Cleveland Cavaliers put Jarrett Allen on the market. Both sides could benefit, but making a trade is always easier said than done. The Cavs would have to reward Grant with a handsome contract that could become problematic as extensions for their stars kick in.
Will the Cleveland Cavaliers trade Jarrett Allen this summer? Who is interested in the 25-year-old former All-Star? The Cavs plan on making moves heading into the 2023-24 season, so stay tuned to see what they can get done.
