Would the Cavaliers make this trade?

Making this trade assumes a few things. First, that Evan Mobley is capable of starting at center full-time. Second, that Moses Moody, Jonathan Kuminga or both are future stars. If both of those things are true, then this deal could catapult the Cavaliers into being perennial contenders.

Mobley and Kuminga together in the frontcourt would be an ultra-athletic pairing, flying all over the court defensively and able to handle and trigger fast breaks the other way. Both would be lethal lob threats in the pick-and-roll for Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell.

Moody stepped up in a major way for the Warriors in the playoffs this season, and while he still does possess on-ball creator upside, he is already an excellent 3-and-D level wing. He was a bit overwhelmed defending LeBron James, but anyone lighter than LeBron is in his wheelhouse.

This move also opens up money for this season, which could make cap space an option for the Cavs or give them the space under the tax to re-sign Caris LeVert as their Sixth Man. Allen has been a beloved part of what they have built, but the lineup versatility, the youth and the upside is enough to make this a really solid deal for the Cavaliers.
