Reason No. 2: Playoff Donovan Mitchell

When the Cavs lost to the Atlanta Hawks in the Play-In Tournament last year, their lack of scoring punch in tough situations really showed. That is why they swung for the fences and brought in Mitchell this past offseason.

Mitchell has already established himself as one of the best playoff scorers in the league, and while he was a part of those underachieving Jazz playoff teams, he was not the culprit, at least in that aspect. In his playoff career, Mitchell has averaged 28/5/5 on 43/37/87 shooting splits. He also has four games of 40 or more points in the playoffs, and two of those were 50-point games. Of the 39 playoff games he has played in, he has scored below 20 points only two times.

Mitchell truly lives up to his nickname of Spida in the playoffs. He comes into this year’s postseason with significant momentum, as he finished the best regular season of his career with four straight 40-point games. He is playing his best basketball of the season at a time where the Cavs are going to need it.

He is the best player in this series. Expect him to play like it, and give the Knicks problems.
