The NBA world held its breath while Kyrie Irving made his trade demand, but the Brooklyn Nets turned around and traded him just 48 hours later to the Dallas Mavericks in a move that prevented another team, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, from getting involved.

Now the activity should pick back up in a hurry, with teams that much more invested in making a deal after Irving was pulled from the mix. Could the Cavs be one of the teams that finds a way to get a deal done? It’s certainly possible for a team that has a history of being active at the NBA Trade Deadline.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will consider flipping Isaac Okoro at the Trade Deadline.

Isaac Okoro has been playing better of later, but that doesn’t mean the Cavaliers won’t seek an upgrade at small forward. Dorian Finney-Smith may have been a pipe dream target, but he’s officially off the table now. Now they pivot to other options around the league.

One such deal has the Cavaliers trading Okoro for a veteran wing. It would be tough to give up on Okoro’s upside, but he is likely too small to play small forward and they could use a player with more size and veteran experience to help the team excel. It’s at least worth exploring; can this trade become something more?
