Sharpshooter Cavs can sign to 10-day contract: Jeremy Lamb

From 36 games to 573 we land on another option for the Cavaliers on the wing, the former UConn Huskies guard Jeremy Lamb. He entered the league a decade ago as the 12th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, and played for four teams across those ten seasons.

Lamb, now 30 years old, hasn’t signed on with an NBA team yet for this season. He was a part of the Tyrese Haliburton – Domantas Sabonis trade last season and played 17 games down the stretch for the Sacramento Kings. He developed his 3-point jumper over the course of his career, hitting over 40 percent from deep as recently as the 2020-21 season.

At 6’5″ Lamb has good size and length for a shooting guard, and while he can fill up shots he has always been best playing off-ball and hitting shots as they come. He would be something of a Caris LeVert-lite, a better-shooting, worse-passing version.

It’s unclear whether Jeremy Lamb wants to be in the NBA again, nor whether he would be comfortable playing for the Cavs. Most likely, Lamb will want to compete for a title, and catching on with the Cavaliers this season probably means just that.
