Donovan ‘Spida’ Mitchell went OFF on Monday night. He scored 71 points – the most points in an NBA game since Kobe Bryant dropped 81 in 2006 and a Cavaliers franchise record.
Mitchell went 22-34 from the field, including 7-15 from 3-point range. He either scored or assisted on 99 total points in the game – the second-most in history.
As head coach JB Bickerstaff told ESPN:
“We were treated tonight to one of the greatest performances in the history of the game. Every single play that he made was a play that was necessary. Donovan has never put himself above the team, so how can you not root for a guy like that? I told everyone else to get out of the way.”
