Cleveland Cavaliers December Games to Watch

Out of the Cavs’ 15 games, five, in particular, stand out.

Cavs @ Knicks, Dec 4th

The second game of the month will take place on Sunday, December 4th in the most famous basketball arena in the world, Madison Square Garden. The New York Knicks are playing well but still losing more than they win. This game has verve because of the strong possibility the Knicks would land Donovan Mitchell instead of the Cavs, not to mention the big stage playing in New York.

Lakers @ Cavs, Dec 6th

The significance here hardly needs to be laid out: The King is coming home. LeBron James only comes to town once per season now, so this is a must-watch for any longtime Cavs fan. James is the greatest player in the history of the franchise and there is always a small possibility that he will find his way home once more.

Pacers @ Cavs, Dec 16th

The most fun team in the league right now is the Indiana Pacers. They have one of the league’s best point guards in Tyrese Haliburton orchestrating a delightful pick-and-roll attack, with a pick-and-pop big in Myles Turner and tons of guards and wings who are not afraid to absolutely launch it. The Pacers play at a breakneck pace and it will be fun to see Mitchell and Darius Garland get up-and-down in response to the Pacers.

Bucks @ Cavs, Dec 21st

The Cleveland Cavaliers might be the third-best team in the league this season but they are still second in their division to the Milwaukee Bucks. Theoretically, the Bucks should be a good matchup for the Cavs as they have the size to build a wall against Giannis Antetokounmpo. That hasn’t been the case in two games in Milwaukee thus far, both 15-point Bucks wins. Can the Cavs take one back at home?

Cavs @ Bulls, Dec 31st

The Cavaliers will have to wait until next season to get onto the Christmas Day slate (but they are certainly on track to make it) but they get to ball on another holiday just six days later. While Ryan Seacrest is in Times Square the Cavaliers will be in Chicago playing another Central Division foe. The Bulls have a scrappy defense and it could be a low-scoring affair before everyone breaks out the champagne.
