The NBA season is long. The Cleveland Cavaliers and every other team will play 82 games from mid-October through to April 9th. Trying to keep in view the entirety of the slate is a difficult task, and it can be helpful to break it up into more manageable sections.

The league does the same, anointing a “Player of the Month” as it moves through the season. To that end we’ll do the same thing here, peering closely at one particular slice of the schedule. As the calendar flips over to December, the month of holidays and cheer, what’s the outlook for the Cleveland Cavaliers?

November was a strong month, with the Cavs going 14-8 overall and staying the course despite a number of injuries. They opened the month with an overtime victory over the Boston Celtics and closed it out by stomping the life out of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Now we turn to December, a month where the Cavs are scheduled to play 15 games. The schedule opens up with the Orlando Magic on the second and will conclude on New Year’s Eve in Chicago. What are the key games to watch, what are the key storylines for the team this month, and ultimately what will their record be? Let’s take a look.
