Cavs loss to Clips left bad taste, but roadie has had its share of positives

The Cavs handled business at the Pistons and Lakers
As far as the positives, the Cavs demolished the Pistons on Friday without Darius Garland (knee sprain) and Donovan Mitchell (ankle sprain) in the lineup.
In that contest, five players had 11 or more points, and the Wine and Gold had 30 assists in a 112-88 victory. Kevin Love nearly had a triple-double in just 23 minutes, and could’ve assuredly gotten one, and Cedi Osman had 15 points and six assists off the bench. Along with those contributions, while offensively it was rocky, Mobley had a career-best eight blocks in that Pistons game.
After the beatdown of Detroit, the Cavs rebounded from a first half that was far from stellar, and put the clamps down in the second half, leading to a 114-100 win over the Lakers on Sunday. In that one, Garland and Mitchell combined for 42 first half points, keeping the Cavaliers in it, and in the second half, the aesthetically pleasing Cavaliers basketball, and stifling defense, was back on display.
And in that outing, Kevin Love didn’t have his shot going, necessarily, but had a double-double in his 20 minutes, Cedi Osman had nine points and Dean Wade was very active on defense. Those three bench guys gave the group energy once again in their minutes, and were plus-22, plus-19 and plus-13 in their time on the floor, respectively.
The Lakers are a club that’s struggling, obviously, however, it was good to see the Wine and Gold respond in the second half, as they have on a number of occasions this season already.
So, to rewind a bit, while the result on Monday night at the Clips left a bad taste in the mouth as a Cavaliers fan, all things considered, this current road trip has had its share of positives thus far.
