The Cleveland Cavaliers have an exciting season ahead of them. Last year was the climb out of the muck; this is when they start ascending the mountain. Expectations continue to rise, but this looks like a team ready to try and meet the loftiest of hopes and dreams.

Adding Donovan Mitchell is a major part of that, a signal from the front office that the Cavs are ready to compete. Yet the internal growth of players like Darius Garland and Evan Mobley is just as exciting, especially if Mobley can become the player everyone thinks he can.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a lot of optimism for next season. What should the Cavs and their fans expect from next season, including a wins projection?

What will the Cavs look like this year? They are figuring out a new offensive mix after adding a star scorer in Mitchell, and a new defensive system to better protect the guards. Sprinkle in a dash of injuries and an opening at small forward and there are plenty of unknowns about Cleveland this season.

Let’s try to sweep away some of the cobwebs and make some predictions. What will the offense look like? The defense? And which Cavs will feature in award selections this year? Finally, we’ll look deep into the crystal ball to predict: how many wins for the Cavs, and can they make a postseason run?
