Cavs bold prediction No. 2: Four players make the All-Star team

Last season, the Cavs were represented by Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen in the All-Star Game in Cleveland. But, just because the event was in the 216 doesn’t mean the two players were selected to satisfy the home crowd. Garland and Allen deserved their selections as they were the two best players on a team that held the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference at the time.

This season, the team should see a big jump from Evan Mobley, the player who many think has the highest ceiling of any player on the roster. From what he flashed in his rookie season, the sky might be too low of a limit for the 21-year-old forward. It’s not unreasonable to think that Mobley could make the All-Star jump as soon as his second season in the NBA.

Even though the Cavs had two 2022 All-Stars and a soon-to-be All-Star already on the roster, they went ahead and traded for a player in Donovan Mitchell that has been an All-Star in each of the past three seasons. I don’t see any reason to believe that trend won’t continue.

Yes, this is a really bold prediction, but then again, who’s to say this isn’t a good bet? There are three players on the roster that were featured in the 2022 All-Star Game and another player that some think is better than all of them.

When the All-Star teams are revealed, don’t be surprised if there are four Cavs players on the list. Kevin Love, for one, based on his comments at Cavs Media Day, wouldn’t be.
